Hi, I’m Alex. I built PDFmuto because every online PDF tool I found wanted my documents uploaded to a server first. That didn’t sit right.
So I made a different kind of toolkit, one where everything happens in your browser. Your PDFs never leave your device. Not for processing, not for storage, not ever.
The tools cover the everyday things: merge, split, compress, rotate, protect, redact, edit metadata, add page numbers, extract pages. Each one is free, has no file size limit, and tells you plainly when there’s a catch, like flattening only working on form fields PDF readers recognise.
I also built imgmuto for the same reason: image files are just as personal as PDFs, and they deserve the same treatment. PDFmuto and imgmuto are the same brand and the same philosophy — private, local-first, free, no upload. If you handle images too, you’ll feel right at home.

What this site is
PDFmuto is a collection of free PDF utilities, from merging and splitting to compressing, editing metadata, and protecting documents. It covers the everyday PDF tasks you reach for most, all in one place.
Everything runs in your browser
The core idea is privacy by design. Every tool processes your PDFs locally on your own device using modern browser technology, including web workers and codecs loaded on demand. Your files are never uploaded to a server, stored, or seen by anyone else. Free, unlimited and honest
There is no registration, no daily cap, and no hidden watermark. Tools process as many PDFs as you like, of any size your browser can handle. Where a tool has a limitation — for example, signing adds an electronic signature, not a certificate-based digital one — we say so plainly instead of hiding it.
